Myanmar has become the No. 1 source of Web traffic worldwide attack as China makes its debut in a cyber threat index covering the first quarter of 2011, according to a new report (registration required).
Posted on Wednesday, the latest edition of Akamai's quarterly "State of the Internet report," said the sudden appearance of Myanmar at the top of the table was "certainly unusual." This was the first time the country has placed in the ranking, which has a history of four years, said provider network content delivery. He added that Myanmar's attacks seemed related to the attack traffic in late February and early March, which managed the port 80.
According to Akamai, Myanmar accounted for 13 percent of attack traffic observed despite only goal 25 unique ports, among which were subject to 45 percent of the attacks on port 80.
