Rory McIlroy want to join PGA Tour again


AKRON, Ohio (AP) - The U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy inclines towards becoming a member of the PGA Tour again.

The 22-year-old from Northern Ireland, spoke with PGA Tour officials Wednesday morning and said he would start looking for a place to live in Florida - either Orlando or West Palm Beach area - after the PGA Championship next week.

"I feel I play my best golf here," said McIlroy. "I feel very comfortable in this country. Yes, I'm definitely looking to come back and play a full schedule."

McIlroy, one of the brightest young stars in golf, he resigned his membership of the PGA Tour after 2010, saying he was not interested for the trip to play in the PGA and European tours, and the preliminaries for the FedEx Cup - a great incentive to Join the PGA Tour - golf was too late in the summer.

He has three career victories, the two largest in the United States - a 62 in the final round at Quail Hollow in 2010, and his record of performance in soft conditions in Congress to win the U.S. Open by eight shots at 16-under 268.

Adam Scott will not play in Singapore


SYDNEY (AP) - Adam Scott choose not to defend his Singapore Open title to return home and join a star-studded field in the Australia Open in November.

Scott will join the likes of Tiger Woods, defending champion Geoff Ogilvy, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Presidents Cup captains Fred Couples and Greg Norman in Los Lagos from November 10.

Scott told Network Ten television on Thursday that it was a difficult decision to resign to defend his title in Singapore, "but the Australia Open is very difficult to pass and I will be playing in Sydney."

Scott won the Australia Open 2009 in New South Wales Golf Club and has his sights on a second title in the event's strongest in years.

"It's the right decision for me and I have really wanted to get down there and win the Australia Open again," he said. "If I win the Australia Open, I'll be very pleased to enter into the Presidents Cup."
