Louis Oosthuizen and South African Charl Schwartzel know the feeling.

U.S. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson? Not so.

When the PGA Championship tees on Thursday, players from the United States is doing something that has not happened since Mickelson at the Masters 2010 - winning a major title.

ATLANTA ATHLETIC CLUB: PGA course will be a difficult

World In today's golf score, there are four players from the U.S. - Steve Stricker (5 ยบ), Mickelson (6 th), Dustin Johnson (8 th) and Nick Watney (10) - but only Mickelson has won a major.

You would have to go to No. 19 and David Toms (who won the 2001 PGA at Atlanta Athletic Club in 2001) to find someone who has raised the largest trophies.

Tiger Woods is healthy. Rory McIlroy is ready. Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Adam Scott are hungry. Temperatures rise, the course is great and young guns are pointing to a major title.

Not much more golfers may want to when the 93rd PGA Championship tees off on Thursday night (Queensland time) at the Atlanta Athletic Club, a par-70 7.467-yard layout in the world's best meet in the last tournament of the year.

"Competition is strong," said Scott.

"Luke Donald has played incredible, Lee Westwood is playing amazing and now we have Tiger healthy again, so this will be interesting for everyone to see."

Former world No. 1 Woods, a winner of 14 grand time chasing the record of 18 won by Jack Nicklaus, missed three months with the left knee and Achilles tendon injuries before returning last week at an event World Golf Championships.
