(RTTNews) - Jennifer Hudson attended the 50th anniversary celebration of President Barack Obama, held on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 3, in a special fundraising Democratic Party in Chicago.

The girls dream star led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to President as he walked on stage to applause from the audience. Hudson also treated the crowd to their own version of the song of the Beatles' classic "Let It Be".

Other artists featured in the birthday party of the president were rockers OK GO and jazz pianist Herbie Hancock.

Grammy Award Winner, Jennifer Hudson, 29, channeled Marilyn Monroe inside a moving version of "Happy Birthday" to help President Barack Obama celebrated his big 5-0! The Dreamgirl addressed a crowd of 2,400 at the special song during a Democratic fundraiser at the Aragon Ballroom in Barack's hometown of Chicago and the room was in flames. OK! magazine reports that the thermostat read 92 degrees instead of when the president took the stage, but Barack was cool as a cucumber and even made a joke about his day milestone.

"There could be no better birthday to spend tonight with you all," he told the crowd at the event. "It's true I turn 50 tomorrow, which means that when I wake up, I will get an email from AARP, I asked to the call of President Obama and tell him to protect Medicare."
